As morning creeps over the hill and the deer graze beneath morning skies, I stop on the dirt road to take this photo. Personally, early morning is my favorite light. It is light that is fresh and promising as opposed to the afternoon “golden hour”, while although stunning, is light that is spent and preparing to go out.
The buck kept a wary eye on my movements as the other buck paid me absolutely no mind with its face buried deep in the dry grasses. These deer are frequent visitors; however, I could not resist taking their photos today. The morning sky was the perfect backdrop. I didn’t have my Canon 6D Mark II with me — so IPhone it was! Sometimes one has to use what is at hand so as not to miss the moment. I did not want to miss THIS moment. This moment, when the new day was showing off and giving the promise of a new beginning.
