Can’t wait for spring. It’s peeking around the corner. The birdies are starting to show up en mass. You really can’t go wrong with a birdie photo. There is no such thing as an ugly bird. I have a bird feeder camera, and its so entertaining. When an alert sounds that a photo has been captured, I need to check it right away. You never know what the pic of the day will be. Sometimes, it’s not a little birdie at all but a larger form of wildlife. Yep. One evening, the camera caught a bear strolling through like he owned the place. I have an Instagram page called ‘bird feeder birdies’. Seems to be a hit. I just post the pics taken by the bird feeder camera. Some are really a hoot. Sure, the camera quality is not the best but this is when the subject matters more than a pristine shot. I’ve captured bird fights, a humming bird sticking her tongue out at the camera, cheeky little Dark Eyed Juncos snagging an early morning snack and majestic Stellar Jays swooping in, just to get their picture taken. There is something so real about these captures. They aren’t staged. They are moments when you aren’t even looking. They are raw, unfiltered life that’s going on even when you aren’t there. KInda humbling in a way — life goes on even when we aren’t there.
